27,360 crore approved for upgrading schools

 PM Shree Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme, under which the entire expenditure for the upgradation of schools will be borne by the central government. And the implementation and monitoring of this scheme will be the responsibility of the state government. Through this scheme, huge investment will be made on the development and upgradation of schools. Due to which lakhs of students from all over India will be benefited. Eligibility Criteria for PM Shree Scheme 

Only permanent residents of the country of India can take advantage of this scheme. Old schools will be covered under this scheme.

How will schools be selected Schools 

  • Will have to apply themselves for PM SHRI Yojana by visiting the official portal. 
  • The online portal will open once every quarter (four times in a year) for the first 2 years of the scheme. 
  • After this physical inspection will be done by the team of government officials and the claims of the schools will be verified.
  • Under the scheme, a maximum of 2 schools (one primary, one secondary or senior secondary) will be selected from each block. 
  • The final decision will be taken by an expert committee after a full inspection. Selected schools will also guide other schools around them.
